Topic: Lucas: TIME TO GET STRONG, LARGE, and LESS ANXIOUS Its really simple and ghetto HA. I need to build a 5 inch box like Joe has in his gym. This works fine, A little unstable, but is the only thing that works. My school gym doesnt have a rack that goes low enough. So i just use two, of the pics below, on their side and rest the weight on top of it. It works. Exactly five inches off the floor

Topic: Protein bars Hey tug,
I dunno if you got time to do this or not, but MAKE your own. You can make it gooey and put it in tupper ware and get all the good foods in there. Oats and whey..
I throughly described a good example in this post. http://thedietdoc.com/forums/5/topics/1134 Hope that helps. |

Topic: Offseason Focus I hope so, I am the child of TWO LOVING BUT TOUGH PARENTS. Sorry to here about your 21 year old. NOW I HAVE BEEN A MISFIT!!!! I use to be a sneaky heavy drinker/immature kid. Life took a change when i met Sarah King ;) love her. She made me realize, by not doing anything, that, " Hey...i love this woman. If i am ever EVER going to be a father/husband....I GOTTA CHANGE AND QUICK!!!!!" Nuts for a 19year old to think, but again what you teach your kids while they young will eventually catch up them, if you love them.
Been nothing but FULL BORE health and came back to my faith too. All sarah did was just enter into my life. God took care of the rest.

Topic: Offseason Focus Thanks shell, but i honestly think kids my age should BEHAVE THIS WAY. We coddle (Jane? spelling?) kids my age too much. I am 20 almost 21, Heck my Pappaw was already a career marine in VIETNAM and married at my age. Just because society looks at my age as 'ok' to be living at home, not working, and drinking beer before the law says it is ok. Seriously the authorities turn a blind eye.
Its eye opening. Kids at Furman, no offense to everyone here, lives like money isnt an issue, drink like there isnt a tomorrow, and then turn around and spit in their elders' faces. Very sad. I am not perfect, but i tell Sarah this, my gf, that IT IS ACTUALLY MORE NORMAL that i am interested in marriage and adult life instead of being a 20 year old kid. When is it exactly that i suddenly JUMP into adulthood? 22? 23? or post grad school? Is it relative? I think not. I am pretty sure we are pushing the date kids need to be pushed out of the nest further and further until we will have 27 MANCHILDS living off of daddy's paycheck, and gets Pi**ed off when dad says , 'no you can't tour europe', or ' no i wont lend you 3500 for a trip/car'
Kids these days, really adults trapped in the mindset that its ok to be a kid even at this age, will fail at many things at life till they realize the truth that they will one day pay for insurance, a mortgage(spelling jane?), and that cell phone bill. So thanks Shellie, but really i dont think so. I think i am more normal than most kids since they are just underachieving.
Its good to abstain from underage drinking(NORMAL adult behavior to obey the law), and respect your parents(NORMAL),
American kids are just ABNORMAL spoiled by the culture and GIMME GIMME generation. I should stop.
I dont pay for everything, and my parents help me out since i can't afford it and make good grades at the same time like other Furman students, BUT the difference is that i APPRECIATE it and DONT MAKE LIGHT of my dad's hard work, working 3-4 days straight in the ICU with not being able to leave.
Thanks mom and dad for stickin it to me. I am glad to be normal and on the way to get engaged when the time is appropriate, and BE an ADULT

Topic: Offseason Focus Yes Kori, I do think this discussion has gone to far.
Nuf said. Go for the card and once thats out of your system, get a woman if it is your desire, if not...learn to enjoy the bachelor life, because relationships are 75% fighting through things. Its mostly about learning to love some one when they SUCK and them learning to love you when you SUCK. No one is perfect, so dont expect them to be. You cant push your life on someone else, if they choose to accept your lifestyle and help you out, Sarah, Judy, and other amazing significant others GREAT if not, deal with it. But i garuntee you Everyone who has a relationship has had to deal with their significant other sometime or another during contest prep. I would BET ALOT OF MONEY ON IT.
SO PRO CARD NOW...
lets see what comes later.
OK KORI
THIS DISCUSSION IS OVER. Bubba and Sean are now the happy bachelor couple until pro card is out of the way...then lets take it from there
HA

Topic: Lucas: TIME TO GET STRONG, LARGE, and LESS ANXIOUS Ha too lazy to post up weights, but i did better.
Felt like an animal. I am really controlled by my thoughts. If i tell myself 'You got it!" i usually DO get it. If i doubt and think "Too much, what if i fail" i FAIL
So positive thinking is everything for me. Did rack presses, took a while to get em right, but really felt it trash the pecs SO THAT IS GREAT.
STAY POSITIVE!!!!

Topic: Intervals IT DOESNT. If i have learned my lesson correctly CARDIO IS WHAT IT IS Cardio vascular exercise, for the heart and make you perform better in the gym. Sure it will help get you to burn more cals, but dieting is where it is at when it comes to losing weight. Dieting is what is is too...for getting rid of the love and handles and the 6000 calories you ate after your contest haha.
AM i right?

Topic: Diet Doc Website: Videos to be made So i am working on a ton of ideas for Joe and the diet doc staff. Great ideas being thrown around here.
I wanted to put this out here as a avenue for you guys to comment on possible ideas or supplement with your own. What types of videos we should make for the site and other comment.
Here is one i talked to Craig(spelling ;) ) about. We thought of doing a Transformation video of him from before Dr. Joe to now. I am still a newb here and DONT know all of the amazing transformation stories.
The ones i know of and want to make are
CRAIG MARK CHARTLAND
I dont know many of the other ones on here since i have only seen you as buff ladies and gents since i signed on.
I think it would be cool to do. Not slimfast before and afters, but mini documentary type thing of what you were before and you now.
More to come once i am free from FURMAN
Lemme know

Topic: Intervals To me intervals on a treadmill is kinda dangerous...Feel like you might fall off. Try em out doors.
I do intervals on cross trainer. Its mostly about getting that heart rate up REAL REAL HIGH.
Try more progressive intervals more time sprinting and less rest as you progress in the 30 min start of 1/1 move to 1/2 and 30/2 somethin like that
See what others say |

Topic: bedtime Get something that will stick with you. Fat is good for that will make you feel more satieted for longer. Like i do PButter. Those carbs are going to make you hungry. Thats a legit meal, but then again you are extreme ecto.
I know what you mean about waking up sick, You are just so hungry you cant sleep? ME TOO haha

Topic: bedtime Are you dieting?
I believe Joe told me that small amounts of carbs if you are going to bed around 2-3 hrs after is fine. Like 10 or less. More than that you are looking at going to bed around midnight.
Joe?
I remember you helping my anxiety on something like this, but its been a while
What i do is if i am up late. I have more carbs and eat it about 4hrs before bed or longer. I usually go to bed around 1030 so at 9 i have a rice cake and 1tbsp pbutter and .5 scoop whey
Interesting to see what Joe says
