Annette, I am much happier now.  More peaceful.  Happy thanksgiving to you too.  And you too Miki!

Thankfully, my home computer is fixed now, so I won't be lost this weekend!  Killer leg workout with the team last night.  Kori's a slavedriverYell  I'm up a pound this morning.  From the leg workout?  I did have a piece of french bread pizza after the workout.  It fit in my macros, but it did have a lot of sodium.  I'm looking forward to the busy weekend.

Topic: Char's Outta Control!

Char, I was wondering the same thing.  I used to hop out of  bed at 4am wide away and ready to go. Not any more.  I got so much more done when I was working out and doing cardio every day!  More energy too.  Except for the last 2 weeks of prep.

Patti, you're crazy!  LOL!  STAY AWAY FROM THOSE DONUT BALLS.  They are like Lay's potato chips.....you can't eat just one!

My company is having our annual Thanksgiving meal right now.  I'm sitting here with my chicken, green beans, and apple while everyone else is chowing down. I don't even want any of it.

Good Lord!!!  60 minutes of torture (stepmill) for just 260 calories???  No way any food is worth that.  Yikes!

My computer is still down, but the parts have arrived, so hopefully hubby can fix it tonight.  I didn't do a template for yesterday or today since all my info is on that computer, but I'm doing alright.  No wt loss today, same wt as yesteday which is fine.  I'm now only 12lbs over contest weight.  Yeah.  I'd like to drop 6 more, but that may not be realistic with all the meals coming up.  I'll keep trying, but I'll be happy to maintain.

I did the chest & shoulders workout Char posted yesterday (but with much lower weights!).  I didn't have a spotter, so went with bar only on the bench presses...and struggled with that.  I've not done alot of bench presses, so I'll need to work on building strenght there.  I threw in a bi & tri set as well.  After I was done I couldn't lift my arms. My chest is sore to the touch today! Great workout Char!!

Leg workout tonight with team k.  Yay!

Shellie, I did just get my furnace checked.  And he had to come back once already and work on it.  It's the same problem.  It's some sensor that either needed to be cleaned or replaced.  He cleaned it once..now that it's done it again, it has to be replaced.  Parts for the computer have been ordered and will hopefully be here tomorrow:)

Yeah, I looked at those donuts (which used to be my number one nemisis) and they didn't even appeal to me.  When I was on prep diet, the smell made me sick.  I agree...bread is the bomb!  I could live on bread alone....well, with a little protein thrown on! LOL!

MC, I'm sending some good thoughts your way. You're so close and doing so good.  You've got this!

Oh...I had to post this funny story.  So we have this vendor who I call the Donut Man, because he brings 3 dozen donuts every time he comes in.  Well, he was in yesterday(3 dozen), and again this morning, only he brings 4 dozen this time.  There was this steady stream of people going by my desk to get donuts.  About half of them were saying things like..."You can sure tell it's the holidays with all the food that we're getting."  "Gosh, I've been eating so much I don't really need a donut."  And yet they all just kept eating them.  Those 4 doz were gone in less than 30 minutes and there's less than 30 people in my department! Here's my favorite line: "Jane, I bet you hate seeing all this food!"  LOL!

Char & MC, you'll have to come to Evansville and workout with us.  It's an experience you will not soon forget.  Just ask Miki!  Annette, enjoy your vacation!

Why does everything break at once?  Got home from my abs and calves workout and my computer was down and the furnace was not working (on the coldest night of the season so far)!  I was more upset about not being able to check in the forums than about the heat.  It was 60 degrees in the house this morning.  I slept in my hubands sleeping bag..it's good down to 5 degrees, so I was toasty.  And I have a heater for the bathroom, so it wasn't too bad.  Of course, my husband was loving it that cold!  Furnace guy was to come this morning and fix it, and hubby will get the parts and fix my computer tonight.  It's all good.  You know..in the past a day like that would cause me to stress eat.  But I was fine.  I couldn't do a template for today's meals, so I'm kind of winging it.  But since I pretty much eat the same thing everyday, it's not that big of a deal.

Down another .5 today.  Did 20min on the elliptical in my cold cold cold basement this morning.  Chest & shoulders is tonight:)

Topic: Char's Outta Control!

Char, that reminds me of the scene in the movie "Facing the Giants."  All the kids on the football team were saying there was no way they could win. The coach blindfolds the one player, had another player get on his back, and the boy has to crawl down the field trying to get to 50 yards.  Coach pushed him and pushed him and when he was finally stopped he'd gone 100 yards.  That's a pretty powerful scene.  When my son's facing some difficult task or opponent in wrestling, I tell him to "Go 100 yards."  You definately went 100 yards!  Way to go!

Thanks Pam & Annette!  I really feel I have the mindset now.  Plus, I feel that I have to be strong so I can help my husband thru it too.  And his brother and his wife are trying to do the program too and will be here for Thanksgiving (and are who we'll be with in Indy.)  I feel like I have to set a good example for them.

I had a great back workout with Team K tonight. Going  back on Thursday for legs.  I think I'll have to do abs and calves tomorrow, then chest & shoulders on Wed.  I hate to train 4 days in a row, but I won't be able to get to the gym Fri-Sat-Sun.  Friday our high school football team (my alma mater) is playing for the the semi-state title...and it's actually here in town.  I'm going to have to sqeeze some cardio in somewhere.  Guess I'll get up early tomorrow and do itYell

G-nite!

Topic: MOT's journey to increase her muscle mass

I will not go back on the pill ever.  I had such a pent up tension when I was on them.  I used to laugh at the stories of women who shot or beat their husbands and blamed it on PMS.  Turns out I could have been one of them! No one wanted to talk to me for fear of getting their heads bit off!  The littlest things would set me off. When I stopped taking them, I had immediate relief. It was an amazing feeling.....kind of like taking a deep breath and then letting it out slowly......ahhhhhhh.  I was a different person.

Thanks Char.  It was an awesome concert.  If you ever get a chance, go. The only thing I didn't like is that they did this question & answer session that seemed to go on forever.  I prefer lest talk...more music! Also there was Bebo Norman.  I hadn't heard of him, but he was really good too.

Good job to you too MOT.  Stay strong!  Pizza is hard for me to resist.  Lots of eating events coming up for me too. After this weekend is Thanksgiving of course.  Then going to Indy in Dec for weekend to celebrate 3 birthdays ( mine included), then my actual birthday, then Christmas of course.  Whew! It's going to be rough, but, I think I'm up for the challenge.

The concert was very good, but a bit emotional for me and my sister in law. I had a successful weekend of eating.  I'm up 1.5lbs from the cheat, but I forsee no problems getting that and more off this week.  This coming weekend will be a challenge.  I'm going to have to eat out 2 times on Saturday (taking my brother's youngest daughter out for birthday lunch and shopping, then in the evening will be going out for dinner with my SIL and my nephew's wife before going to see a play), and once on Sunday (my side of the family will meet at a restaurant for our Thanksgiving dinner.)  No cardio this morning.  I was up late last night because of the concert.  I'm going to try to get to Team K back class tonight, so that should make up for no cardio today!  I'm tired this morning, but in a great frame of mind focus wise:)

I used to have awful cramps and heavy periods too.  For awhile I was using a hormone cream to control them....and it really worked. But I haven't used it since last January when my periods stopped from the contest prep.  And I'm 3 months off contest diet, and I still haven't gotten my period back.  Is that normal?

LOL.  My husband didn't like it when I was at 104 for contest.  I'm paraphrasing here but he said I looked like a little girl. And I think he was afraid of crushing and breaking me too, being that he is a big guy! He's ok where I'm at right now.  He tells everyone that I'm his trophy wife....and that I have the trophy to prove it.  Funny guy, eh?

I miss it too.  It's a little different now with the guys separate from the girls though.

For my cheat meal I had a bowl of chili, grilled cheese (my healthy version), and an apple with PB2.  I'm very satisfied and still feeling in control. Yay!

I did get my chest & shoulders, bi's and tri's in this afternoon, while Josh did abs and calves.

Tomorrow I'm going with my sister in law to see Mercy Me perform at a local church. I'm excited about that.  Plus, it will have me out of the house at the time that I've been having the most problems.  Sunday evenings.

I'm pooped and going to bed. Nite all.

Thanks all!  It is a good feeling.  Just came from an unexpected potluck lunch after Josh's wrestling scrimmage and I did very well. I had carrots, grapes, one meatball, and one mini pumpkin tart. There were about 20 crockpots of pasta, soups, chili's and about that many pies and desserts.  It was a bit tempting, but I smothered any thoughts of eating any more.  I'm feeling pretty darn proud of myself! But, now I have to reschedule my chest & shoulders workout for later today because I didn't know about the lunch and the meeting after.  By the way, Josh got his first pin of this season at the scrimmage.  He  looks pretty good this year.  We just need to get some  more muscle on him and he'll be golden!

Craig, no, I'm not regular with the teamCry  There's too much other stuff going on and it's too big of an expense right now.  You going back?

KB, weekends are my worst time to. I've had a binge the last 4 weekends. Like Annette says, staying busy helps. I have a jam packed weekend.  I'm making sure that I don't  have too much time alone.  And I will have a very conservitive cheat meal today.  No desserts!  Those seem to be what set the downward spiral in to motion. I taped the phrases "Food is Fuel" and "I am not a garbage disposal" on my fridges to remind me to think before I indulge. It also helps tme o get on the forum when I'm having a problem.  Just reading everyone's posts helps to keep my mind off the food.  Good luck.  You can do it!
