I am sure any of the members on here will chime in to give you their experiences, especially the Dr. ----------- He knows contest prep

Topic: The Best Protein Powder Ever!! Virtually EVERY other company now gets as much of their protein ingredients from China and with some major quality issues. (Remember the creatine from China that was literally toxic.) ------ So, a lot of supplements ingredients come from China now more so than before ??
I know there was a problem with the pet food, a serious problem. -------- So now I got to watch what I take and start researching even more before I decide to buy and use any supplements. Could also cause you to fail a drug test, who knows. |

Topic: DO YOU TRAIN 1 BODY PART PER WEEK Herc, you don't look like you have a lagging chest at all. Maybe the two a week chest workout works great for you. I unfortunately have taken many, many years to realised that one body part a week workout is the optimal routine for me. Monday, Wednesday and Friday with an upper, lower and then upper body routine all with compound execises, performing at the high intensity level that my body can give on that day. I have a question for anyone, have you found that the less you train, including duration of the workout, the better the results you get ?? It's kinda weird. But, the most important thing is to know your body and listen to it. |

Topic: Pics from the WNBF pro card win So that means that you may do a show very soon, maybe Dr.Joes' show ??? Are you from the West Coast of Canada because they have been alot of bodybuilders in the INBF/WNBF who are from that area eg: B.C, Alberta side of the country. I'm from Toronto area. My calves I inherited from my mothers'side of the family and I used to ride alot of bike in Barbados plus running in the sand at the beach on the island but I have been neglecting them for years now and they seemed to be shrinking. ---- So Calves, keep on training hard until we see your debut soon in the future.

Topic: Amino acids Miki, the above mentioned aminos I have bought and they are working well for me. I am sure you can find a very good BCAA supplement that your stomach will tolerate. As for me, when I try a new supplement for the first time, I read the label and use less than what they recommend then I adjust the levels to suit. -- Using too much of anything does not go well with me and I make notes of certain amounts and types of supplements that work well, those I keep and the others are gone. I am very sensitive to supplements, "WEIRD " I guess ?? Everybody is different just like you all said, that's why there is no true cookie cutter diet to fit everyone. I take my BCAAs' just before training and during training. I've learnt something about BCAAs' recently from you all and that's to use capsules or the plain powder instead of the sweetened version. And yes, Joe, there is no breakdown of the proprietary blend to let me know what I'm getting, TRUE.

Topic: BCAA The other product was Extend and looking at the label of Beverly Glutamine + Bcaas I don't see any Arginine in there. From my experience the formula giving the best results is the one that taste the worst, just my point of view. Robert.

Topic: BCAA My understanding from the info. I'm getting here it's better to use the plain BCAA powdered form compared to the sweetened version which is very popular now. I have been using the Beverly International Glutamine Select + Bcaa and I have been getting really good results from this brand. But, I switched to another Glutamine/ BCAA product which does not leave me with that full, hard, vascular look as the other product does, so I'm thinking it might be the type of sweetener being used. I could be wrong. --------- I will and have used the plain powdered BCAA's before, the taste doesn't bother me at all, the only thing is that when I take a sip of it from my bottle it leaves a whole bunch of the powder stuck to my lips like if I'm eating a piece of chalk.

Topic: Need to increase my appetite What's up Mark ? Thanks for the comment. I got some muscle but not tons of it, I wish.
So you are going to do Shauns' show? that would be later this year because I believe there was a show this weekend in Toronto, if I'm right. I will be doing Sean M and Dr. Joes' show in August. The INBF /NANBF & WNBF put on the shows that I like that's why I'm still with them since 1999. You will have a great time in your first show. What gym are you at in Toronto ?? |

Topic: Need to increase my appetite Congrats to you on your first show and I'm sure that after that one, the bug would have bitten you and you would be hooked for life. -- I'm a good distance away from Evansville, I'm in Phoenix, Arizona. ---- When I first started they were no INBF/NANBF shows in Toronto, Canada where I lived, so I had to traveled all the way from the east to the westcoast of Canada to British Columbia for my first INBF show in 1998 and I stuck with them to this very moment. So ,keep on track with your training and train hard. Robert.

Topic: Need to increase my appetite No I don't have a problem, it's just that now, I believe that I'm wasting time worrying about nothing. Like Dr. Joe said, not to fight to hard against my appetite.
--- At almost 51, I'm still strong and thank God I can still do the major compound movements like full deep squats with 315 on the barbell, deadlift 405, no kneewraps, no belts, for reps. And can remain lean without trying too hard. ---- I should focus my energies on getting ready for the show in August. ---- Lucas, are you going to do the Mid-America coming up ?? |

Topic: Need to increase my appetite Hi Sean, thanks for returning the call and also nice speaking to you too. --
Yes Lucas, I wish I could just stuff my face but I tried it years ago and it help but could only do it for a couple of days and then I wanted to gagg. -- Problem solved, I think I will walk around all day with an I.V. in the arm, that may help me. ------- I believe I will be competing in August at the Mid- America show, so now I have to eat, no choice about it. |

Topic: Need to increase my appetite Thanks for the replies guys. The chilli pepper and green tea I can do, but the running that's a no-no. Working out in the morning does not go well with me. I loose bodyfat too easily and have a very hard time putting and keeping muscle mass on. Maybe I'm a little too paranoid with my appetite at the moment and that's because I had a case of Montezumas revenge recently which left me very much dehydrated down to a weight of 180 lbs from my usual 197 lbs. That was in February and now two months later, I'm at 191. My training is still pretty intense because the major compound movements make up most of my workouts, like the deep squat, bench press, chin-up, deadlift, push-press, reverse dips, dips and reverse hyperextension which is done on the reverse hyperextension machine ( which is rarely found in most gyms ) Yes Joe, you are right. ------------ I personally think I'm making a mountain out of a mole hill and maybe I should plan on doing the Mid-America show in August. That should get me motivated.

Topic: Need to increase my appetite Does anyone have any experience with any supplements that can increase ones appetite ? I'm 50 right now and I just don't eat as much as I used to when I was younger but I need to increase my food intake in order to gain and retain my muscle mass in order to compete.
I must admit that I eat like a bird and not the pre-historic bird the Raptor. Maybe it all boils down to me needing to be motivated to compete again by training and eating hard. Robert in AZ. |

I used to work at the original Extreme Fitness in Thornhill a great gym back then and was the place to workout and to work at.
