Topic: Team K MVP '07

I saw the high endurance muscular symetry mascot video which is highly disturbing to say the least, --- yet oddly intriguing.  Not fit for Animal Planet, the Discovery Channel or National Geographic, but the upcoming Team K Streaming Video Forum may very well be the perfect venue for our furry friends!  Refresh my memory, did Bubba and/or Winston achieve the Perfect Peaking that Dr. Joe is so famous for?????Wink

Does anyone want to join me in a challenge to see who can put on the most  lean upper body mass safely in the shortest amount of time.  Nancy Nicholson is ready to pack on some serious undeniable muscle.

PS Kristin - here's a picture of Ms. Holmes, standing behind me on the right (with the beautiful slender soft legs).

Dan - I'm glad you are enjoy my double-bicep avatar.  I certainly enjoyed your extended abdominal photo that you were kind enough to link to us.  It's a cuddly squishable version of you - just more Dan to love!

I most enjoyed your and Ashley's company in KC.  You are both such amazing young people whom will surely succeed in whatever direction you take in life.

Now please try to redirect your life route from the cookie jar.  I am worried the trans-fats are having a field-day with your digestive system, scary chemicals and colorings are eating away at your best judgment and you are falling into the addition of Junk Food's harsh additives.  CLEAN UP YOUR ACT DAN and at least feast on healthy organic food bars, natural cereals, vanilla soymilk..................yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy :)

Topic: INBF/WNBF Worlds!!!!!

I will stay at the lovely quaint historical New Yorker Hotel.  I will try to get in on Wednesday so I am not feeling rushed and stressed.

So I don't have to deal with all the search and security issues at the airport, not to mention looking like a pack mule in New York, I plan to prepare a box food as well as tanning products, tarps and rags that I will simply Fed Ex to the Hotel.

I'll  keep you apprised as my plans solidify.

Topic: Diet Soda

Sorry Shellie - I have to open my big mouth on this one.  The fact that you used the word "addicted" to Diet Mountain Dew is a huge red flag. I agree 100% with the Doc & Jordan.  Its not rocket science - it's common sense.  STAY AS CLEAN AS POSSIBLE - WATER IS YOUR BEST NATURAL RESOURCE.  Do you want to be a natural athlete? Don't put crap in your body.  Don't listen to lovely radio jingles, commercials and snazzy advertising campaigns and don't buy into the "yippee we have zero calories and no fat" crap.  The Doc is right - there is a ton of info out there on artificial sweeteners.  You must do yourself and your family a lifetime favor and become your own nutrionist.  Make it simple:  Before you consume something, simply ask yourself "How will this nourish me?  Will this provide the nutrients my body and brain needs to function properly throughout the demands of my day?  With the chemicals, colorings and cost of Mountain Dew, it obviously does more harm than good.  But ultimately it is your personal choice to make.  I know nothing good could come from my consuming Mountain Dew  :)  LOL

Thanks Shellie, Mary, Sean and everybody for everything.  IT WAS A FANTASTIC RIDE.  I had an opportunity to speak candidly with the judges and review the stage shots.  I definitely learned from my mistakes.  I pulled this show together way too quickly - it won't happen like this again as my life is now taking a much different route.  Anyway,  Team K is truly a class act and pleasure to be with.  Again, thanks for this great ride.  The best is yet to come!  We Rock!

Topic: For the LADIES

Hey Ladies - I have always wondered about the menstrual cycle:  what do other competitors go through?, what is normal?, what is preferred?, etc.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that many of the competitors do carry tampons in their gym bags.  I have leaned out and stayed lean for long periods of time, but I have continued to regularly menstruate.  I used to think periods meant I was still too fat - but I am more apt to believe my body is much smarter than I am.  Now, when I get my period (which I just had a few days ago and I may very well have around the time of the Pro International) I prefer to believe that my body is in optimum conditioning from my healthy nutrition and exercise choices.  When I'm leaned out, eating healthy, exercising, drinking plenty of water, etc., my periods just show up - meaning there are few if any noticable PMS symptoms of bloating and moodiness.  I do notice more hunger and cravings - but stay true to my protein/carb/fat count.  Honestly, I don't know what is normal or preferred in terms of menstruation in athletes.  Every Body is different.  I wholeheartedly believe it is vitally important to understand and listen to your body, and although it is a bit embarrassing, I believe it is important to share this info. with Dr. Joe.

Hi Team K - (Sean - sorry if you feel like you are experiencing a stroke reading my posts - Can you delete the weird yellow one??? I'm going nutty too)

I live in Kansas City - Sorry, the airport is a far 30 minutes away in middle of nowhere exciting- with no easy access to transportation (subway, etc).   The host hotel is approximatly 10 minutes from the competition site, but usually the Rowlett's (the Show Promotors) have been excellent about arranging guest hotel shuttle buses from the hotel to the competition site.  The guest hotel may have a shuttle bus from the airport - many hotels do.  I'll try to check into these things this weekend and give you more defininte answers as soon as possible.

I'll also be competing so I'll be pretty darn focused but I'll also do what I can to help out.  If you let me know when your flights come in, I can keep track of them and between a few of us helpers such as the gracious Mary Bell, we can get you to the hotel.  Also, if you are feeling really thrifty and not in need of luxurious accommodations, I have some space for the most serious competitors :)  but check with Dr. Joe - he may need to keep an eye on your tightness, vascularity, and all the magical peak weak stuff and therefore need you under close scrutiny at all times.  (Shellie you are welcomed to stay at my place but if you do, you must ProTan my back)

Feel free to E-mail me at lovnicholson2@excite.com (I know it sound's like a porn site, but it seemed like the obvious perfect name choice when I got married)  :)

Mary Ford:  I don't think it matters what gender, size or even what species I am, judging from your Avatar, you are a force to be reckoned with.  I am afraid to fight you - but you can jump in my gymbag and we can have an awesome workout!  :)

I'm not familiar with "The Secret", but I embarrassingly, admit, I might get lured into such an intriging vision, quit lifting wieghts in lieu of World Tiltle meditations and count on Dr. Joe  to put it all together in a tight little package sometime around Peak Weak.   I am blessed  I can count on him, his professional training, experience and ever-exanding knowledge base to keep me in balance.  I will not dissapoint Dr. Joe -- that would go against the laws of my universe :)

Topic: Stimulate vs. Anihilate

Oh don't be such big sissies - I believe we'll all be doing this same darn weight training stuff in 20 years.   I might even squeeze in a few "workout till I puke" sessions.   Today I reconstructed my personnally built fish pond in my back yard and I had these really cool freakish veins all over my pecks and abs.  Vascularity is common in my arms and shoulders these days - but veins were popping ous all over my abs.  Perhaps I'll build a treehouse tomorrow and I'll finally get vascularity in my quads.  :)

Topic: Stimulate vs. Anihilate

I'm waiting for Dr. Joe to tell me exactly what to do.  But until then, I am a firm believer in listening to my body.  I like supersets.  I like heavy weights.  I like the challenge of heavier weights.  I easily grow bored with high reps.  I like the feeling of pride after a tough workout.  I believe overall conditioning should be enjoyable.  I'm into the whole package -- the mind/body/spirit wellness.  If I find myself hating the gym, I would have to find a different venue for physical conditioning.  IN SUMMARY,  I love to seriously stimulate the muscle, but I will not work out "till I puke"   :0    because it's an obvious contradiction to my quest for overall physical wellness.  Correct me if I am wrong.

So TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION Mr. Sleeplifter, Of course, we can have productive workouts without being to devastated to enjoy other areas of our lives after the gym session - assuming you do more than work out :)   Again, Correct me if I am wrong.

Topic: Has anybody noticed...?

I guess it's all the way you look at it.   At least your'e not spending your hard-earned funds on junk-food,  cigarrettes and gambling.  Seriously, Bodybuilding and an overall healthy active lifestyle can be quite affordable.

I pack my own lunch instead of paying $5.00 or more a day like colleagues.  I could easily live on chicken breasts and StarKist Tuna fillet packs and the packs of frozen veggies.  They are convenient, portable and affordable.  I simply choose my meals wisely -- by determining what is going to nourish my body and mind.  I don't take a lot a supplements, perhaps I should, but I  am pretty lazy and low maintenance  when it comes to that kind of stuff.   In the past, I have spent oodles of money on supplements but have not been convinced of the supplement's effectiveness or necessity.  Now  I stick to protein powder,  the basic amino acids and occasional glutamine.  I try to keep it simple.

I have a gym membership, but I get most  of my workouts at home from an  Olympic Style Wieght Set that I got a great deal on for $800.  I get a lot of my cardio vigorously mowing my yard,  gardening and other outdoor activities that I love to do.  Its an overall wellness for me.  A mind/body/spirit balance that I'm after.

When I am preparing for a contest, I do commit more time to the actual Gym to develop a disciplined routine and  better monitor my progress with their many many mirrors.

LIVE HEALTHY - BE HAPPY!
