Topic: The Diet Doc Shop is OPEN Hi All, Recently I was asked by my good friend and co-worker (that’s my code word for “Owner”) Dr. Joe to manage The Diet Doc Shop. I’m excited he asked and eager to do my best to insure that everyone who visits our site will find it a comfortable experience as well as a valuable resource to their health and wellness ambitions. Much to my surprise I’ve found that a number of orders recently placed haven’t been filled. Needless to say I’m disappointed at the news and I’m here to offer my sincerest apologies. You see, we were advised by our former website management team that they would no longer be able to manage our site and needed to handover all responsibilities to us. What we were not aware of was a number of orders were not filled. Once again I offer my sincerest apologies. On any unfilled orders I can offer two alternatives. I can cancel the order or, if preferred, I can fill your order and process your payment. I will be happy to help in either case. We will begin processing prior orders to be filled as well as ongoing business within the next 7 to 10 days as we complete our transition. I can assure you that as we move forward there will be exciting opportunities for all of our patrons and we will be certain to work hard at earning your business. I appreciate your patience and look forward to hearing from you. Yours in good health, Tony Bronco |

Topic: dr squat challenge I'm by no means an authority on this issue but my experience and reading has led me to a number of conclusions that have been helpful to me and perhaps to some of you as well. As Joe carefully explained, the use of a belt for heavier sets works well. And as I've gotten stronger I use the belt at increasingly higher weights as I'm more confident and capable of handling the higher weight. I've used a Cardillo Belt (2 years) and an Inzer (1 year...so far) and I prefer the Inzer. It seems to protect my lower lumbar a bit better. I also have a lower abdominal hernia (for at least 5 years now) and the belt has helped me from making it any worse. Regarding lower back pain, I've experienced this issue for years. I find it has much more to do with the lack of flexibility in my ankles and hips as well as tightness in my hamstrings and glutes. When I'm patient enough to work on fexibility consistently the issue is much more manageable. I hope that's helpful |

Topic: Offseason Focus Dude, you're young. Stay on track. No distractions!!! Bodybuilding is your life. And if you stay lean and constantly diet you may even avoid the urges that come along with being male and succeed as one of the many that exist alone and survive it. You'll never have to "deal" with any issues and won't have to "change" a thing. |

Topic: Change for America! Graig, as a matter of fact, I do know them. We've spoken on a number of occassions and I had an opportunity to spend a bit of time with them at Kathy McClare's camp this past spring. Dad and sons are fantastic people and few truly enjoy natural bodybuilding as much they do. I hope to get a chance to work with them more next year as I get ready for my 2009 shows. Summerset, Thanks very much. I look forward to getting to know you and all of the community. |

Topic: Change for America! Lucas, thanks very much. They had a great time at the show. To see their faces light up after each of my rounds, cheering for me and encouraging me was the highlight of the event. I did not see the video on youtube. do you have the link? |

Topic: Change for America! It's my honor to be a part of such a fantastic group of successful individuals. Most people go through life searching for that perfect opportunity only to find themselves unsatisfied over an entire lifetime. I'm happy to say that I won't be one of those people. I'll do my very best to get more aquianted with all of you and look forward to adding whatever value I can to the Mecca! |

Topic: Michael Phelps's macros Joe, your account of our exchange is surprisingly accurate and I am impressed. The "old underwear" version is a little literary license on your part as anyone that knows me will attest that I'd sooner gauge my own eyes out than even own an old pair underwear The rest is history and needless to say surreal was an understatement. The best part of the whole thing was the girls were super nice and I appreciated all the hard work that went into the effort! |

Topic: The 2008 Olympics and Natural Bodybuilding One of the gifts thinking beings possess is a perspective as individual as a finger print. Many perspectives have been offered regarding this issue all of which have some merrit. Suffice it to say that no matter the classification natural body building falls in, the benefits within its "sub-culture" and beyond are primarily healthy and worthwhile to us all (whew |

Topic: Michael Phelps's macros Joe, Rachel and I just read your post and both of us are rolling! That is absolutely precious. I can just see that sweet little girl on your shoulder asking you that question, innocently, as if that was my name and everyone recognized it (and soon she will be right). Don't ignore my comment too long big boy as my offering may turn out to be sage advice and in your best interests. graig, "Tube Sock" is a nickname bestowed upon me (by the ever more graying nutritionist we all know and love) as a part of my indoctrination into natural body building. I decided to make use of the professional tanning service made available at the Mid-America and, as I was making the arrangements with Elyse, it came upon me quite shockingly, that I would be getting the service with nothing on but a sock (very small ankle sock in my case). I immediately contacted my loyal and trusted friend Joe to let him know of my complete and utter shock and embarrassment very much to his amusement.....and hence the name (along with a multitude of other side jokes quite traditional to all of us wise crackers). |

Topic: Michael Phelps's macros wow Joe, you sound like a jilted, resentful ex-lover in desperate need to be heard and acknowledged. you might consider some time alone in a dark room in deep reflection, or maybe in your case, a quick trip Cold Stone Creamery for your favorite ice cream

Topic: The 2008 Olympics and Natural Bodybuilding Joe, my friend, I believe you may need to consider reorienting you paradigm. Before your next response, as opposed to defending your position, you might consider other positions first and, with just a little effort, recognize the short comings in a few of your arguments. One cannot appreciate athleticism merely on the merits of competition. True athleticism is all encompassing which, as we all know, includes a substantial amount of preparation prior to and in between competition. I was a division I college Soccer player. We played 25 games a season and practiced the entire year! That meant on the field, in the weight room, in the mess hall and in the video room. It was physical, mental and emotional and what truly defined us as athletes. Certainly a bodybuilder need not be capable of a 7-minute mile to compete, as you very elloquently pointed out. However, bodybuilders do require minimum level of cardiovascular fitness none the less (and by the way, golf, as you and I participate, is nothing more than a leisure activity). The amount of athleticism required prior to getting on stage should not be discounted. It may not necessarily require the same level as some other sports but certainly requires more than few as well. And true athleticism is not defined by a set of physical "gifts". Its purist origins are rooted in sport specific intelligence combined with physical "gifts"! |

Topic: The 2008 Olympics and Natural Bodybuilding My friend...that brings Baseball (pitchers, first basemen and a few catchers along with designated hitters) as well as football (offensive and defensive lineman as well as a few QB's) into question. There are always exceptions but by and large it does take quite a bit more than good fortune to compete in any sport. |

Topic: The 2008 Olympics and Natural Bodybuilding The question of whether bodybuilding should or should not be included in the Olympics will probably be argued for many years to come. Suggesting that bodybuilding is undeserving of inclusion in the Olympics as a result of the subjectivity involved is exceptionally closed minded. Subjectivity can be found in every sport to varying degrees and is the very nature of the excitement competitors and fans alike experience. Suggesting that bodybuilding is not a sport is, in my opinion, ignorant. The will, effort, energy and dedication it takes to achieve even the least amount of success in bodybuilding is unappreciated and often overlooked. It demands athletic ability, both physical and mental. Those with reasonable intelligence know it even when, in many cases, seem to be so unwilling to admit it! |
