Topic: Julie's Journey to the Pros!

Hi ladies.

I'm not sure about spring shows right now Annette.  Possibly.   But my back/shoulder is still giving me a lot of trouble.  I have a bit  of damaged tissue in my left pec, shoulder, tri and rhomboid.   So I'm working on rehabbing it with my chiro and muscular therapist.

I'm exploring some other types of training as well.  Working with my pilates instructor on the reformer and may try some yoga.  Size is not something I need to work too hard on at this point so I'd like to maintain and try and fix my body.  :)

Hi gang!

Thanks for checking in on me.  :)  I've just been insane at work.....trying to facilitate new programs, getting training for my trainers etc.

Workouts have been good.   A little lighter to try and get things to feel better.  I've been working with a muscular therapist (that's what she calls herself) and it's been going really well.  She is making my back feel a lot better!

I'll drop in again soon!  Hope you're all well.

Love ya and miss ya all!

Sorry to hear about the pics.  :(  That's frustrating.

You guys are the greatest! Kiss

I've had some lighter workouts over the past week.  I'm still trying to get this upper back/shoulder thing worked out.  But I feel good.  Weight is up 2 lbs but I'm ok with it and will keep a close eye on the scale.

Topic: Julie's Journey to the Pros!

Hi Gang,

Sorry....I've been outta touch.   I've decided not to compete this fall.  My nagging back issues have been progressively getting worse.  Went to the chiro this week and realized I had some ribs popped out (or something crazy like that).  I can now breathe without pain which is good but need some deep tissue massage.

My conditioning is not where I want it to be either.  Yes, I could bust my ass, kill myself with low macros and double cardio and be able to get on stage.  But to get on the pro stage, I need to be crazy lean and I'm just not there.  I would not be comfortable on stage knowing that I'm not in my best possible condition.

It took several days of turmoil to come to my decision and I felt defeated for a couple of days afterward as well.  Today is the first time I've turned on my computer or been on the phone other than for work.  I'm ok with my decision.

I've enjoyed the past couple of days....actually had dinner with my family one night.  We usually dine together but not often on the same food....roasted chicken with red potatoes, asparagus and even a little wild rice stuffing....what a novelty.  I'm taking my son apple picking tomorrow and may even treat myself to a carmel apple.  :)

I went to a new hair stylist and am no longer blonde....that's kinda weird but I like it  (I've been blonde for like 10 years).  More a dark dirty blonde or light brown now I guess.  The color is much more suitable for my complexion.  I'm not even sure how it got so light to begin with.  Yesterday I went to the mall with one of my clients.   We went to the Chanel counter for makeovers and I dropped $700!  Holy crap!  That was kind of insane but I really enjoyed it and love the products I purchased.  So a little indulging in myself that was worthwhile and didn't involve chocolate, lol!

Joe and I discussed that we'll try to maintain my weight over the next couple of months and possibly shoot for shows in the spring.  I'm good with that.  I told him that I really like where I am now so I want to stay here and not gain too much as I usually do.

So that's the wrap.  Sorry I haven't been around.  It was a tough week.  I'll keep up on you all and support and cheer for you all that are getting ready for shows!  And of course I'll be here just to shoot the bull as well.  ;)

Thanks so much for all your encouragement you've given me.  You're all like my second family.....the family that actually understands!

Thanks for stopping by Craig. :)  Hope you and your wonderful wife are doing well.

Mary, I think I pulled 65 lbs that day we worked out in Marlboro.  I dont hardly ever work traps.  I guess I'm just genetically gifted there. Cool

My back was a mess all afternoon and evening though.  When I go all out, whether it's back, chest or shoulders I end up in a lot of pain.  My left side is in a lot of pain today too.  Neck, shoulder, trap, lower lats, rhomboids, even my collarbone area.  It was painful and difficult to breath.  I was miserable last night and think I took 6 advil and went to bed by 8.  It feels slightly better today.  :(

08-10/04 - I had a heavy back/shoulders workout today.  The workout felt good but my back doesn't seem to be liking the after affects.  Lots of knots and pretty locked up.  I can't put my left arm over my head.   Not a good thing.  I'm sure with some stretching and heat it will loosen up.

Wide grip pull downs:
100 x 6
110 x 6
110 x 6
110 x 6

Reverse grip pull down
130 x 2

Assisted pull ups for 20 - rest pause style
40 lbs x 20 (10, 3, 2, 2 3)

DB pullover
50 x 6
50 x 6
50 x 6
50 x 5

60 x 2

seated rows (not sure on the weight)
70? lbs x 20

HS shoulder press
50 x 6
60 x 6
60 x 5
60 x 5
70 x 2

Rear delts on the pec dec
60 x 10, 50 x 10ish...not sure

Cardio was done on the stairmaster.  I didn't have a great session because my back was nagging me from the earlier workout.

20 mins intervals
ave hr 133
175 cals

Tomorrow will be better!

Thanks gals.  No training today.  I was in a management meeting most of the afternoon.  I felt like a zombie today....that meeting was tough to stay focused on, lol.  NOt sure why.  I had a high carb day yesterday but I think I overdid things with that leg workout and 40 mins of cardio.

My legs are completely fried today; seriously painful not just sore.  Heels are still bleeding and I'm just completely exhausted.  This is the first really tough day I've had.  So I can't complain.

So I'm giving myself a break today (who used to say that McDonalds?.....I think I have food way too much on the brain.)  Resting up and will hit cardio with twice as much intensity tomorrow.

Pam,

Are you looking for shoes?   I have a pair of size 9 Elle M-Lorettas.  I bought them when I was on the crazy notion that I may try figure.  They're a little too big for me.

I think I paid $56 for them but will sell them for $35.  I've worn them to practice in only once.
