I hired Sean once, but he kept asking me to send him pictures that had nothing to do with my progress or bodybuilding.

Topic: Dan's Bodybuilding Documentary Glad you enjoyed it Graig. Actually, I did mention Joe a few times. We had about 45 minutes of footage and Mark cut it down to about 10 minutes. That's the price of editing I assume.
More to come? Hopefully! |

Topic: Offseason Focus You hit it on the head buddy, "can and WILL need to change".
Humans are agents of change. Without the ability to adapt and adjust, we die. And you can't get a procard when you're dead.
I know you'll be fine. |

Topic: Offseason Focus Hey Mary,
I agree with you. Do what you gotta do to keep yourself happy first so you can be a better person. But like Nancy said, when push comes to shove, you're going to have to side with your family not the sport. And if that means "compromising your competitive goals" then so be it. |

Topic: Offseason Focus At 20, I'm clearly no authority. Here's what I think:
Bodybuilding is a sport and a passion that you do for you. It's all for you and it's all about you. You, you, you. Selfish but also self-motivating, which can be a postive aspect for other areas of your life.
Sean, right now the lifestyle is perfect for you because you are, admittedly, the quintessential bachelor.
But what happens when you stop living your life for you and only you? Let's be hypothitical here. Let's say you find a woman who is perfect in every way. Maybe she isn't really into fitness like you are, but she supports your endeavors.
Great.
You want to marry this woman, start a family with her. Well as soon as you slip that ring on, and especially as soon as the first kid appears, your life goes from "me" centered to "we" centered. If your kid is up crying all night, you can't ignore him because you aren't maximizing your recoverey. If the wife wants to go on a romantic vacation, there will be instances where you can't track your macros. Sometimes little Sean will need to get picked up from school when big Sean is supposed to be at the gym. Guess what, you just missed a day!
I'm just giving you scenarios here buddy. There will be times when you will have to make clear choices between family (others) and bodybuilding (you).
I think for you to have the mindset that "nothing will stop me from my competitive goals" is really selling yourself short. When you are in need of love and support, it won't be your striations keeping you warm.
What I really want to say is don't look for reasons not to be with someone because of bodybuilding, because nobody will ever be 100% compatible with you. Don't spend your whole life thinking you couldn't find "the right girl" because you were blinded by a selfish passion. |

Topic: Election 2008 I'm not sure if the opinions expressed in the article are the extent of the author's beliefs but I am sure he is the Nobel winner. I just thought it was an interesting, albiet opinionated article from a credible source. Just toss it around, take it or leave it.
I just booked my tickets for DC on the 19th. Going to be historic! |

Topic: DAN'S JOURNEY TO WORLDS 2009 Alberto- thanks man. I've been working hard in the gym, but not watching the diet too much. I know how much I can eat and when I can really splurge in order to stay where I am at. I know this would be a good time for growth and I know that I'm limiting my size potential by purposely refusing to gain...but I just like where I am at now. I don't really feel like bulking up and cramming all that food in. With all the cardio I'm doing, it would take a massive amount of food. I'm thinking at this point, my chest needs the most work. My shoulders overpower it. Thoughts?
Lucas- You will NEVER wait two years ahahahaha kids these days! |

Topic: DAN'S JOURNEY TO WORLDS 2009 Doesn't really feel much like the offseason in terms of how I look.
Then again, Tuesday all I ate way beef jerky, m&m trail mix and whey. I don't really want to gain weight. I like being where I am and just getting stronger. I hate feeling soft.
Feels like a show is around the corner.
Despite my posts about how stressful this lifestlye is for me sometimes, maybe a show would be fun.
Hmmmm?
Uggh. I'll just go to bed and sleep it off. |
