Hi Everyone, thought it was time I started my contest prep thread. I have not started Joe's peaking program yet, but will be soon. I'm training with Sean 3 times a week and have stepped the cardio up to 3 times a week. If you saw my intro on the introduction thread, you may remember that I have spent a lot of time doing my best to avoid change. Not any more. My mantra for this year is to embrace all change that comes my way...good or bad. I'm changing just about everything about myself that I can...I'm even changing my hair! I'm 39 and this is my first attempt at anything remotely athletic. I started as a general pop client of Joe's and somewhere along the way, I got the fever to do a show. My husband, kids, and close friends have been very supportive of me. I've not yet shared my goals with the rest of my family, friends, or co-workers. I'm not sure how they will react as I already have some co-workers telling me not to get too skinny! Whatever! Sat- 30 min on home eliptical.....Sean, you'll be glad to know I finally broke a sweat! Sun - 30 min on home eliptical. Current macros - 80-100 / 100-120 / 20-25 I've lost 20.5lbs since Oct 1. After almost 3 weeks of hitting 130 and then going back up a pound or two over and over again, this morning, I finally broke sub 130.....129.5!! Sweet! Jane S.

Gosh - good stuff Jane!! Embracing change is an awesome mantra! I know alot of people get negative reactions about contests and prep. I don't find that at all. I don't flaunt what I do but I don't hide it either. I find that my clients are fascinated and want to talk to me about my diet and training. My friends are very supportive and my husband might as well be prepping with me. If you are up beat positive and "normal" about your prep that is how others will treat you. Be proud of what you are doing and make it your normal mode of operation and others will accept it. You will have lots of support on the road to August!

Thanks everyone. I've never met a nicer group of people! Can't wait to actually meet everyone in person. Just did arms with Sean. Great workout. I'll be on my own til he gets back. Will fill in with cardio. My family and I will be meeting with Cordova about joining the Fitness Zone this week so I'll offically have a gym to call home. Yay! Go Packers!!!!!

Funda, arms are fine at the moment.....I fully expect the soreness to hit a little later today. That's what typically happens with me. Are you kidding me?? Brett Farve is the man! I predict the Pack & the Pats in the Superbowl. Unfortunately, I don't think there's any team that can stop the Pats this year. Jane

Jane - good job. I started training with Sean last night. So far, I can walk today but the day is young. It's coming tho as I can feel it when I go up and down the 30 stairs to my office. I actually slept with two heating pads around my thighs last night to see if I could keep some of the soreness down. Probably just a pipe dream! We need to get the local group together at LA Grill one night so we can all meet. Otherwise, maybe I'll run into both of you while training with Sean. I'm from the greater LA (Lynnville area)! Not to far from the big E'ville.

Patti, I know what you mean. Last time I did arms with Sean, my pecs hurt so much I couldn't even touch them without pain. Last time I did legs with Sean I almost planted my face in the concrete when I stepped off the curb. Almost called in the next day, because I have 40 steps and a really long walk thru a warehouse to get to my office... and no elevator......how's that legal? I love the Grill. Would love to get together with everyone sometime. Craig, you got that right. I still have no idea how I let them talk me into this Pam, I'm still hoping for a miracle and the Packers win the Superbowl.......hey, it could happen! Does anybody dream about food? I had my first food dream last night. I was eating a Donut Bank donut......and I was hiding behind a door so no one could see me!

I'm in for the Grill as well...my wife and I normally go out on Saturday evenings for our "splurge" so maybe some weekend (we have plans this Saturday already) we can schedule something.
