Training and Diet Journal begins HERE AND NOW--please respond and keep me accountable.   I want to thank Dan DiPiazza for designing the name of this thread -- which we both thought was humerous and appropriate.  I don't think there is anyone else who competes at my weight except for Joe. :)

I want to thank Sean for his role in the KC training and recognize all he did for competitors' prep.  Regarding the training -- he was awesome and messed up my glutes big time.   I was operating on 2 hours sleep and the weights felt heavy- but his demands were greater than the weight I was bearing.  I wish I had Sean by my side all the time.

Regarding Sean's back stage role:  Yes, we were all working hard- Our mission as Team K was to take pressure off the competitors and get them stage ready: color, sheen, suits, posing, badges, pump-up, food, hardness, following Joe's requests, everything.  The pressure and craziness should have been insane on Sean: But rather, he kept calm, poised and reassuring to competitors, pit crew members and Joe.  Friday he was up past midnight posing competitors.  Saturday, he began tanning competitors at 4AM.  Backstage he  knew where everyone was at all times and pulled the right pit crew member out of nowhere to work a competitor.  Timing was everything regarding who was next on stage.   He kept all these plates spinning, kept himself  aware, approachable & available with his finger on the pulse of stage time.  I know I was working like crazy, so was everyone else.  But I do not envy the task had by Sean.  To top it off, not only did he train Legs on Friday, he squeezed in GUNS with Wayne between pre-judging and the night show.   Sean you will be a great promoter.

OKAY -- my week's HIGHLIGHTS:

Legs: I did the same legs this week as from KC last week.  Felt I was wimpy in KC so I added weight and reps everywhere (eg. 6 plate on press, 2 plates on hack, 1 plate on smith, 25 lbs for walking lunges -- sets of 20 instead of 12-15) and did it with less rest between sets.   It was easier on more sleep.   I am not as sore this time round either.  Next week: on to barbell squats with heavy weight and fewer reps.

BIG Traps:  80lb db shrugs x 15 .  I wasn't sure I was getting the full range of motion so I dropped to 65's x 20.

Biceps: Preecher with EZ curl 70lbs 3x8.  Not bad for someone with a torn right brac/should have gone heavier..was watching the brac.

Triceps:  EZ curl bar/ French press: just 60 lbs here x 10/

PECS:  Incline DB: 70lbs for last two sets x 6  (increase to 75 next is next)

DELTS: Seated Military DB:  55lbs for last two sets x 8.  Last set was a drop set.  I have torn left labrum - so 55lbs is not bad -- (press 60 next)

Cardio:  running and biking-- 30 to 45 minutes.   Start with bike to warm joints and then hit the road for interval training up hills.  HR climbs to 150 even 160 at times.  One day of rain I rotated: bike/treadmill/stepper.

Yes, Kristin, you are right there!

Mary, You're right, Sean didn't get enough credit for all the stress he was under. :)  But I hate to praise him too much, he'll begin to think I'm obsessed with him (again)  ;)

Nice workouts by the way! I can't wait to get my strength back. I did 70's last week on a 30 degree incline and felt like I was going to rip in half! And you're doing it with a bunch of injuries! You're such a beast!

Awesome thread, Mary! You're on fire and it comes through in your post. Any symmetry goals or is it all retain muscle and lose fat? I don't know what you look like on stage - just curious. You're going to be sooo dangerous when you hit the stage again.
