Well I probably should have started this thread after my last contest, but I was pretty busy with that whole "pick-up-everything-you-have-and-move-to-Evansville" thing. LOL.
After the 4 shows last spring, it became quite apparent that my weakness is size...so the doc and I are doing everything we can to remedy that. My last show, I had a body weight right in the 177 range. Pretty light for a dude at my height. In fact, I think I may be the only guy at over 6'1" tall to have competed in a middleweight class. Ever. LOL.
Its now nearly 12 weeks after the last show and my body weight is up to 197.4 pounds as of today. Apparently living here is anabolic.
So we are looking at an increase of 20 pounds in the last 12 weeks (roughly). Granted there has been some fat storage, but that said, I have gained some good beef too. The concensus is that I need to hit a solid 220 before I diet again. The key now is to slow that weight gain down a bit to prevent unnecessary fat storage. As we all know, you are going to gain some fat after a getting shredded for a show. Now I just need to focus on lots of weight and lots of food.
Right now, I am eating roughly 250-275g protein, around 500g CHO and about 80g fat each day. I am loosly tracking the macros right now. I know where I am at and I know week to week what I am eating. That said, right now, gone are the days of tracking each and every meal with down-to-the-gram precision. As we all know, once the diet rolls around, it will be game on once again!
Supplements are simple right now too. A multi each morning, protein(goes without saying), VasoXplode pre-workout, XTend during the workout mixed with 30g dextrose. A simple PWO shake made with whey isolate, egg whites, maltodextrin and dextrose. Some fish oil here and there too. Thats about it.
Oh yeah, and those numbers are NOT including the bi-weekly runs to either Golden Corral, Denny's or IHOP. I save those feasts for the meal after training legs and one of two other workouts each week.
Progress pics will be far and few between. I don't know if I can post pics of my fat pale butt right now, so you guys will either have to trust me or post a VERY convincing arguement making me post them. LOL
As for my next show...that is largely unknown. I wanted to compete in the spring, but I don't think that will happen. That means the soonest I could possibly be on stage would be next fall(2008). I think the best thing would be sit out all of 08 and compete in the spring of 09. That gives me nearly 18 months to grow and 6 months to diet. If that could put me on stage at about 188-190, I would look totally different. Time will tell. I do know that the next time out, I will doing both INBF/NANBF shows. Since I am closer to the east coast, its more feasible to do more of those shows. I'll probably plan another 3-4 shows for that season too. I really enjoyed doing multiple shows and when you are going at a pro card, its nice to have a few cracks at it.
So here we go again! Another season, another thread!

. And don't feel bad about IHOP/Dennys...It's a nessecery evil.
