I think that everyone in here has been tempted by steroids(or any other banned substance) at one point or another in their lives, and I think that there could be some pretty neat stories that come of it.  So since I am starting the thread, I guess I'll tell my story...

In 2005-2006 I moved to Ball State University (Muncie IN) My new major was in exercis science.  Exercise was (still is) my passion.  I wanted to learn about everything there was to learn in regards to getting JACKED! I wanted to learn about sets, reps, periodizations, nutrition, energy systems... all of it... whatever.  I wanted to be a strenght coach and be the best.

I have always had that urge to be the best, and typically, I will not rest until I have found a way to become the best.  Well as I delved deeper into my major I started learning about this bodybuilding competition that the college puts on every year.  Called the Mr./Ms. Ball State Competition.  All the meat-heads were talking about it.  They were talking about how the guy who won the year before was HUUUGEEE, but he had graduated.  They were talking about how he was "juicing" but never admited it, and a lot of my peers were going to compete in the show that year.  They would talk about their "cycles" and how much bigger and stronger they got from the steroids. They talked about their plans to cycle certian types of steroids before the competion.  Hell, they even talked about taking T3, clebuterol, and (glad their still alive) lasix.  I was very intrigued by all of this.  Those guyes who were juicing were enoumous!! I wanted to look like that... actually I wanted to look better than that.  I knew I could, if I took the same stuff as them.

I started researching steroids, how to take them (safely- lol) what kinds, and how long to use for.  I started finging out about "PCT" and how to keep the side effects down.  I was certian that I was going to take them and get huge! I was just scared of my already sometimes short temper.  I was afraid that I might snap on someone. So that is what prolonged me from ordering some.

The Mr/Ms Ball State Competition was right around the corner, and my roomate (juicer) was going to compete in it.  We would always train together and I really looked up to him.  So I decided that I would get my feet wet in this bodybuilding stuff.  I decided that I would stay clean until after this first competition.  My goal was to not get last place, but to gain experience for the next year when I was going to be "juiced up"

I decided that I was going to be the leanest guy out there since I couldnt be the biggest.  I had always trained my legs hard and my back hard too, mainly to be different than the chest and bicep guyes.  So come the day of the competition, I was the leanest guy in my height class (tall class) and the second leanest overall (to the overall winner from the short class).  I managed to beat 11 other guyes from my division... NATURALLY!!!  And I counted 6 of them to be on steroids! How on earth did I win my division, I thought? Well I was A)the leanest B) the most proportioned C) the best posed guy out there.  Thats were my back and legs helped me.

When I was getting dressed after the competiton back stage a guy came back with his girlfriend and wated to get pictures with me.  He said "thanks for winning one for the little guys," kind of a backhanded complement but what he ment was he was really impressed by my look, which was better than the bulkey disproportioned "roided out" look.  It was from that moment that I realized I could do this naturally, and that I would do it naturally, and that I was going to come back the next year, bigger, leaner, and take home the overall trophy!!!

Well, guess what?  I did! and I did it naturally, which made it so much more satisfying!

Austin, thanks for sharing your story.

It gives me hope I could win someday with my long limbs!

That is awesome you learned that before you got into that lifestyle.  Once you're in, it's hard to get out.

p.s.  Your symmetry is awesome!

now i have to cycle my carbs differently

so i eat the majority of my carbs during the 1st, 2nd, and 5th meal.

i need to have a lot of carbs before work or i'll be sluggish and i'll probably end up getting injured in the process. im also using a lot of energy shots now to stay awake during those early morning hours.

sorry Austin i didn't mean to take over your thread!!

ok heres mine Austin, ever since i picked up a weight I wanted to look like the guys i saw in FLEX magazine, Dorian Yates, flex Wheeler, Kevin Leverone, etc. I knew what it took to look like them yet, never had the balls to do something about it.(drugs wise) Twice in my life I bought a cycle of Anabolic steroids and both times I looked at them and thought "If I do this I can NEVER say im natural again". One of the  times I told the guy I got it from take it back, the second time I sold it to someone else. I just Couldnt do it. Bodybuilding always kind of came easy to me..and I have been accused of doing steroids so many times that I thought "well if they think im on stuff NOW imagine when I really go on".But SOMETHING always made me stay clear of them (my
conscience of course)
fast foward about 10 years later , and I managed to get my pro card on my first attempt with the USBF and come in second place at my first pro show with the same federation. Im glad I stayed away from the garbage because despite not being 290 pounds and jacked like a rhino I still managed to build a respectable physique with what god gave me.

Well you did manage to look good without em' my man, and much more astetically pleasing than the mass monsters (except for maybe flex... that dude is close to perfect haha)
