I am looking for something to add to a protein shake for a good post workout weight gainer, and also for something quick to drink during my work. I work eight and a half hour days doing construction. As you can guess, I don't get much time to eat something wholesome (besides lunch, which is often subway). I was looking at a store and found something called carbomax. It is maltodextrin that you add to something like a protein shake. Would this be a good weight gainer? I am guessing it would, maybe even good pre-workout, but I do not know if it would be something to eat in the work day. I am ecto, with macros of 225/600/100 (do I beat you yet sean?), so what do you think?

If this is not a good thing for the work day, what do you recommend everyone? Thanks for the ideas.

Josh

I figure that maltodextrin I can use for a good pre and post workout. I think that for during the workday I will grind up some oats and add it to my protein. Sound like a good idea, grinding the oats does not change them significantly does it?

 Thanks

I've used that a lot...works well if you need more carbs.

Get some Revolutionary Tech. Nutrition Bionic Edge Mass Builder. 100g of carbs per serving. I love that stuff.

Maltodextrin just sounds like love handles to me.

Well I don't want love handles, but being the ecto I am, it would be a good post and preworkout, right?

Yeah, Sean used to down that stuff all time after we got done working out.  I just get fat looking at the stuff though.

Conley is half right. I used to use a 50/50 mixture of maltodextrin and dextrose. Smile I'd put 75g of it in with my whey. Instant weight gainer.

I found that grinding up two serving of oats is pretty effective as well. It is also cheaper and has a greater nutrional value. I am not positive that it works as well as maltodextrin...but oats are a lot cheaper.
