Hi

I am new to the site. My son has encouraged me to get help with nutrition and change my lifestyle. I am doing it. I think that he is right that I need some good advice so that I can make a permanent change. He has had wonderful success on your site. I have hired a trainer twice a week and go the other five days to the gym and do the  things I have been taught. We own a farm and the grass is starting to grow so it might get done late or early but the workouts will get done! I have lost twenty two pounds on my own and inches. I would love to hear from the experts about what I can do to improve my results.  This a.m. I had 1/2 c oatmeal and 1/2 cup blueberries, 1/2 cup organic skim milk. For lunch I had  one cup of New Mexico Green Chili Stew (Water with ground lean turkey in a stew with fresh garlic and onions.) I have signed onto calorieking.com and I am being accountable to trackmy intake of food. I plan to work out in the next hour at the gym.  I have a short term goal to be lighter for a special occasion in July.  My son has held me accountable to post ...so here it is! I hope I did it correctly and in the right forum!

I have written an email to Dr. Joe as well.

This weekend I have to go to a "thing" related to  my husbands work on Thursday Friday Saturday..they have a gym and walking trails in the area. I am going to see if they have a sister gym to mine in the city. I think they may. I have emailed the hotel to see what they have available for equipment. Any ideas for good nutrition on on a special trip?

What are your current MACROS? Carb/Fat/ Prot and calories?

Do you mean What is my current daily intake of grams of carbs, fat and protein? Would you like to know how many I should eat daily? I am actually asking for someone to tell me how many I should eat to be honest. I am guessing most of the time. I just go onto calorie king and plan my meals and snacks and do my best each day to keep the calorie count at 1200 and the percentages what they should be based on an article I read on dietdoc.com. How do I know what my macros should be? I weigh 177 and I am 5'3.

you sound like a perfect canidate for joe's metabolic transformation, he gives you the amount of grms per macronutrient to eat and helps you formulate a game plan.

 Carb=?

Fat=?

Prot=?

Cal=?

That way you can get better advice.

Well....today:

130 g carbs

120 g protien

30 g fiber

23 g fat

I wrote Joe and I am thinking about the met transformation program.

I really have absolutely no idea what I am doing nutrionally except what I learned through diets and calorie counting over a lifetime.Embarassed I work hard in the gym but I think my lack of knowledge how to eat properly is making  progress unsteady. I gain and lose . I have a lot of determination but may not have the know how. Working on making it happen! Thanks for your patience and the email Joe! Ripped chick, Thank you for the welcome!

WIP - Sorry for the late welcome!  You've come to the right place for nutritional/workout advice.  Most of us started in a similar spot as well.  But after signing up with Joe you'll learn so much about nutrition, people will see your progress and will be asking you for advice!

Duh. WIP is me eh Luke? Ok so I am a little slow..ha ha

I will post some workouts that I do with the trainer on Monday. I am sure I am a beginner but I will post them if you are curious.
