Went to a chiropractor last night, who happens to be an acupuncturist as well.  Focuses on "Chinese Medicine", of which I do not know much about, but at this point I'll try anything!  He bascially stated my "issues" by manipulating certain areas of my body and feet....with out me "giving" an information to him.......very intriguing!!

Anyway, he suggested eliminating wheat, CHICKEN, and peanut butter from my menu/diet.  I could replace white turkey for the chicken.....wheat products is a little more difficult, almond butter I guess could be substituted for peanut butter.

He said that people have allergies to food and people with "B" blood such as myself experience inflammation in our internal organs when we eat the food we are supposed to avoid.  We are supposed to AVOID....shrimp, crab, tomatoes, ketchup, avocado.....just to name a few.  By the way "Alaskan King Crab" is my all time favorite!  Ummm, not that I eat it even on a monthly basis.....I don't think I would pass it up...if we had it for dinner.  The shrimp is a little more difficult for me to give up as I eat it fairly regularly....one of my favorite things is this unique shrimp cocktail served in a tomato based cold soup, cold shrimp floating around with chopped onions, tomato, cilantro and avocado on top....as well as a few crackers on the side.  That dish includes many of the things that I shouldn't eat....

So my thoughts are ~ stay away from the main "avoid" foods for a month or two....and "experience how I feel"....really try to take note.  Who knows my sister has Celiac disease....she's been HAVING to avoid gluten for severals years. If she eats something with gluten in it...her intestines fill up and her bowels and expand and it'll send her to the emergency room....looking like she's 7 months pregnant!

Funny we were talking about this @ dinner @ camp.  Joe's opinion was that it was cow pucky (he was more eloquent).  Both Duke and I are the same blood type and had some similar food "experiences".  I am suppose to avoid wheat, dairy and peanuts to name a couple and these are definately foods that I feel better when I avoid.  Peanut butter is a binge food for me if I am not completely on my game when I eat it.

I think gluten is the DEVIL - we are all probably better off avoiding it.  No science behind that just hate :-)

I know about this program.  You can follow Joe's macros and this program simultaneously.  I'm aware that Joe thinks it's cow-pucky. I am neither advocating the program nor condeming it -- I will stay neutral.

It is all about, as Gabrielle's chiro says, minimizing or eliminating inflamation in the body, the root of diseases:  joint pain, menstrual difficulties, arthritis of any sort, and then down the line, more chronic diseases.  It is a program for the long term not the short term.  You can not do it for a week and say you feel a difference.  You have to do it for much longer than that.  The idea is to keep the body free of inflamation to minimize short and long term discomfort, illnesses and diseases.

Gabrielle you can still eat crab --the program says "seldom" not "never."   You may have heard the word "avoid" and that's not accurate/easy to misinterpret.

Type B - cool Dog. -- Type B's live to be Centurians than any other Blood type?

Type A - Shellie Joe is type A too.  The program wants you to focus more on fish and poultry as opposed to red meat to minimize inflamation.  That doesn't mean red meat can't be eaten.

All blood types experience reduced inflamation by eliminated wheat gluten.  That is because all PEOPLE will experience reduced inflamation and fewer issues in general by staying away from wheat gluten.  (that is consistent with much of my research...outside this program).

I agree with dog on that one...gluten is up there on the list of things to be eliminated like trans fats and processed sugars, mercury, nonfermented soy protein....cigarette smoke......not good for anyone.

I'm a type B too.

I'm O+ Dan - the diet breaks stuff into avoid, neutral, beneficial

Avoid - wheat, corn (I think) - doughnut are definately out

neutral - ezekiel, amaranth, quinoa, oats

beneficial - manna (sp?)

Avoid - peanuts, avocado (which I love)

beneficial - red meat (beef, lamb, bison, venison)

neutral - chicken

avoid - pork

avoid - tofu

sweet potatoes - beneficial

yams - neutral

avoid - dairy

off the top of my head thats what I got

Its kinda cool - cause I feel my best w/beef, sweet potatoes - I can live without chicken but LOVE beef

Being the oldest blood type we are suppose to avoid processed/cultivated food and we are suppose to thrive on hard work.

Cool list Dog. I'm all over that list- I eat things from every category. The one good thing about being closer to show shape is that you can VISABLY see how different foods affect you. Now everything is just..."googly".

This sounds interesting.  Never thought that different foods could affect you based on your blood type.  I'm curious to find out what mine is.  Guess I'll have the brave the needle to find out -- ick!!!!

Oh, brother.  Why did I find this thread at 10:30 at night Wink. Do me a favor - any of you who believe that blood types globally affect what we should eat.  Go to a lab and get IGG and IGE blood food allergy tests and three consecutive days of stool samples to check for total digestion and short- and long-term food reactivity. If anyone comes back in line perfectly with the blood type diet I'll work with you free forever.  The body, food allergies, digestion, and everything that goes into it is far more unique and genetic than following a couple of blood types that differentiate us as humans.  I have done that.  I have had clients do that.  It never matches up.  There are many common things - like avoiding gluten - that makes the diets proposed better, but the whole concept is flawed from beginning to end.  Show me one single study that proves it instead of daddy's personal hand-written charts on clients from a few generations ago.  And daddy wasn't a medical doctor, a biochemist, or a researcher of any kind if I remember correctly.  By the way, if you do want to know what foods to eat, do as I proposed and get those tests.

Joe ~ {poor guy...sorry you saw this so late}  hee hee...

Remember I titled it...."Opinions" on Eat Right for Your Type and I truly value your opinion, Joe.  I had to post it....'cuz I was intrigued because some people seem so "sold" on it.  It says type B's should give up chicken.....I don't believe it.....I've had much success eating chicken as a main staple in my diet.

"Cow puckey" = Eat Right for Your Type

How about eat right for your body and not your blood type.  Get a blood draw for a complete IGE and IGG food allergy test and skip things that your body has high reactivity to.  Has nothing to do with blood type.  But if I could think of a great marketing scam like that and sell millions of books I'd be all over it - always late to the party.  I'm pretty sure I'll come up with the perfect eating plan and solve all of the world's food issues in the next year or two.  Some formula....hmmm....shoe size times hair color minus age plus the amount of times you can bench press Mary Ford divided by resting heart rate equals calorie intake....I'm working on it.
