I can get these myoplex deluxe bars pretty much free. I have been eating them pre-workout, due to its helps with my tight schedule. What do you guys think of these things? I mean the macros are 30/35/9. 15 grams of sugar, a good mix of proteins.

THis about 45 minutes before my workout combined with the during workout powerade goes far for me. Best thing I have come up with so far that I can eat at my job before working out. Good practice?

Bars i think should be fine with your macros bro. Ask the doc

I would MAKE MY OWN preferably though you can help with the calories you have to consume....i make drop cookies. Oats, protein powder, pbutter mix with a little bit(literally) of h20 and make into cookie dough...throw on saran(spelling?) wrap and fold wrap on top of dough. Press into large cookie shape and freeze to stiffen. When you are ready to roll. Take out and eat....reall yummy and cookie dough like.

lucas - i like that idea. i'm going to do that..that is solid for traveling. so what do you do just mix the dry oats protein powder and pb then flaten it out in saran wrap, so it is in the shape of a cookie? or do you do balls and call it a day?

here is a better description

1 cup oats(or oat bran works good too for more fiber less carbs)

2 tbsp pb(or less or more)

1 scoop dr joe prot(more or less no biggie)

mix DRY to get flavors in every bite

slowly add water SLOWLY too much will make soup, just enough will make it sticky which is perfect!

Once you got it to a sticky batter, use a spoon to scoop out a large hunk. I use ziplocs since i haven't any saran wrap. I rip them in half an put dough in the creese(spelling?)  of the ziplock. then fold other half of ziploc over dough. Press on top of ziplock, so hands dont get sticky, and flatten into a pancake/cookie. If you can... snap ziplock back together to keep it from re opening.

Stick in freezer and let it get real hard. It thaws fast so if you let it freeze hard as soon as you pull it out and it thaws in your hands..it will be PERFECT and not GOOey. It will then come off the plastic easier, i have also sprayed PAM on ziploc to keep it from sticking so bad.

THIS IS an awesome recipe. Is there any doubt in anyone's mind i should do culinary? i love this stuff. Sarah and i are a perfect match...I am still reveling in my pumpkin pie recipe. how good it is...or was  ;)

YEAH 100 fat ....you get it in when you can. You can do it without....i have just done pb in the past since i need the fat...honestly you can just hodge podge it up Mary. I have used honey, dried fruit, and just oats and choc protein powder

SO VERSATILE

What i typed above is just a template for the processes. ALso you could use PB2 low fat.

any thoughts on making them more travel ready so they don't melt in all over the place. i keep thinking that i'll bring them on the road and end up with a mess. lucas go back to the lab and figure that one out :)

Bake them...they will bake.

I used microwave.. made them more dry, but an oven would work better. Just make sure you watch them carefully

You could even add a tiny bit o baking powder (just a little) and that would give some loft

wow i didn't know there was such thing as "The diet doc" protein supplement. Speaking of peanut butter I usually eat 1/2 cup before i sleep (it really helps out with the night cravings).

you are a piece-a-work with those pictures Lucas baby.  Love'm! Kiss

LOL Russ, Who'd a thought?  A HALF A CUP of pb to stop cravings?   I guess the 25g of carbs and 65g of fat in there right before bed would be enough to keep anyone sleeping like a baby.
