Hi, everyone. I'm a male 40's masters.  For the life of me I can not get my legs to cut up!!!Cry  I've followed "Perfect Peaking" and have had great results with upper body.  Ab's, arms, shoulder and back come in hard, full and dry but my legs do not get cut!!  They get lean and full, but not cut..  Can anyone help a fella out?Smile

There are about 100 billion reasons why that may be happening.  If you have a few pictures of you legs put them up... posing them properly could be a problem, or maybe just the size of them... It's too hard to tell if we cant see them

Yeah, I agree Eric-pictures. I will say as a generalization, that we all have those parts of are body that are harder to lean up due to genetic predispositions. Some folks just won't have the striations.

All I have to add is that you haven't "followed Perfect Peaking."  Perfect Peaking is my program of working with clients one-on-one.  My guidance through the whole process is 99% of the success; the science I use is just science.  The application of it is different for everyone due to genetics and behavior.

I would agree with everyone else….it all depends on you.

For me a variety of things work. I like drop sets in particular, but they need to be complimented with either high volume or just high intensity training. I like drop sets on leg extensions and calf raises…I also ensure to do hacks, presses, squats, lunges…although drop sets challenge you, there is only so much weight you can place on extensions without compromising your knees or risking injury.

You can also try training quads and hams on different days. Like sleep says people can only make suggestions until you post pics and a sample of how you train your legs.

Herc (Lawrence, right)-I agree that training a particular way can keep you hard and full to make the striations pop out...but I think actually getting them shredded is a dietary issue. Don't you?

Of course...I am a living testimony of that. Or at least will be. I can manipulate my body in any way to grow or to show more detail and separation. Not until now have I been able to accomplish both at the same time.

I always thought it was about the training because my body changed so fast, but since I signed with Dr. Joe I have been able to get lean and somehow continue to build/maintain muscle. So a combination of training/nutrition (diet/cardio/weight training)

Doc. Joe,  I'm sorry if I, in any way, insulted you.  I'm an avid reader of "Natural Bodybuilder" and with your articles I have really changed the way I think about contest nutrition.  I thank everyone for their thoughts.  I'll get some pic's posted.
