I have tried a number of different concoctions minutes and seconds before I step on stage for that vascular/pumped look. During my pump up/right before stepping on stage I am going to have 2-4oz of red wine and GNC’s no flush Niacin…I have never tried these right before the stage and would like to know what other people have for the vascular/pumped feeling and if you think red wine and Niacin will work? Also when should I drink the wine and take the Niacin, before I start pumping up, during, after or a combination of all three?

truthfully menna there is no really trick to being more vascular with the things you are taking. also i'm pretty sure if you are going to be doing a natural show, alcohol is banned during the show, so i would check on that. i know that show's i've done in the past have had that rule, at least with the NGA. There are some things that Joe has us eat shortly before going on stage or while pumping up that will fill you out a little more and give you a better pump, and thus making you more vascular. but it only works if you are peaking properly and are extremely lean. as long as you are full enough, have enough water and not spilled over and crisp, there isn't much more you can do than have "enough" food in you and getting good pump. i'd be curious what other think?

Niacin will work, but the non flush will not because that inhibits the flushing effect. Many people break out in rashes when they take the niacin. So start out with a small dose to check your tolerance. If you do have a bad reaction Benedril will help. If you take that stuff, the wine will be about 30min before you go on stage, then the niacin takes about 10-15min to hit ya. But I honestly dont reccomend either. I have done comps with and without them and if there was any difference I did not notice! Have you ever been cooking something on the stove and noticed your arm veins are going crazy? Well they are becase of the heat. So warming up your body tempurture will increase vascularity as well. And I do not believe anybody has won a show just becasue they were more vascular than someone else. It's usually beacuse they are leaner, and the vascularity is just a side effect.

If the wine and Niacin doesn’t work wonders then I am not going to mess with a product I have never tried before. I will just put two scoops of NO Xplode in Gatorade and have half of it a half hour before the stage and sip the other half during my pump up…Let me know if you guys approve. (I also use "Hot Stuff" and love it)

Austin said it. Vascularity is a side effect of having very low body fat. If you need to take something to try to make yourself more vascular, then in all probablity you are not lean enough. Not trying to take a shot at anyone...but the judges don't sit and look for that per se...they are judging symmetry first, then muscularity, then presentation. So you need to have all 3 to be truly dominant. I judged a show this last weekend. There was a dude who had the best vascularity on the stage, but we gave him 3rd because his symmetry was not the best, he was not the most muscled guy and he did not pose effectively. He was leanest dude on the stage and that was awesome. Being the leanest dude will always ensure you are near the top, but it does not ensure you are at the top (trust me on this one!). But I mention this to prove my point: You need to have all the components to be successful in a phsyique competition. Let your conditioning do the talking up there. :)

good ole hot stuff works wonders, just a light mist before you pump 15-20 min before you go on is plenty
