Last week a client hired me and mentioned that last year she worked with a client of mine for peaking. She sent along her final week plan and I had to laugh that it was mine down to even comments I made for MY client that she just passed on. Of course it's not something I'm thrilled about but a client helping others - what can you do? It happens all the time. Today a client emailed and said, "Hey, do you get the Beverly newsletter? Your peak week sheet is on page 8, newsletter #13, Number 2. It supposedly came from Layne Norton but I know Dr. Joe's stuff when I see it." So I go online, and all the way down to the exact format, comments, things like "80% intensity on training" - every detail is mine!!! Now I know I can't control information - I don't thank Edison every time I turn on a light - but when someone rips you off, at least they can try to make it look like they have an original thought - holy freaking cow! The real tragedy from posers and pretenders is that they think it's just a magic formula. You - my clients - know how much individuality comes into the planning and then even the meal-to-meal changes and making the right call at the right time. Even knowing who you may face and therefore how to fine-tune your position for an overall etc, as I did with Brad this weekend. Check out that newsletter: http://www.bodybuildingworld.com/vol13_2/seize_the_day.html Unbelievable. I usually hold my rants on topics like this, but seeing my work in the middle of someone else's business - wow.

Joe hope you dont think thats what i am doing. I just want to help people. Not in any way trying to have credibility. I understand what you are saying here though. I think it would be sweet to see you and layne duke it out....even though i dunno if he did anything, but still you'd win now....because his chest is all messed up lucas

It's a small part of what I do. My bodybuilding endeavors are very fun and you can see by the posts all over this forum and within the contest report pages that the value I can bring to people in achieving their goals makes me sleep very well at night. If I were ripping off someone else to do it, I doubt I'd feel that good about myself - I'll leave that up to someone else's integrity and only worry about what I do. As I said, when you are teacher, students learn and go on to influence others; that's normal. Even though some things cross the line, I can't worry about every person on the planet. The funny thing is that I'm constantly changing things, learning myself, and helping my clients get even further out on the cutting edge - the sheets I see passed around from my clients are years old and aren't even as good as what I'm doing now. And then, as I mentioned, it's just an overall prediction - a game plan to begin with. The real work and results occur with the constant interpretation of results, modifications, and fine-tuning all the way down to the wire. I do take this and my work with competing clients very seriously, but in the overall scheme of my career - it's just one part. Those who have nothing original to offer their clients will come and go but my goal is to create a company, systems, and a team of people (you!) that can only be chased. We'll always be out in front.

Joe, Maybe you should go to Kori and talk about this. It seems like it may have got under your skin a little. Heck, you're paying right? Put her to work! Wayne

I was amazed when I saw it. It looks just like our peak week sheets used to. My first reaction was laughter. I thought "You have to be kidding me!". Whoever has taken that sheet and passed it off as thier own...it struck me A) unreal that whoever did it would not even take a couple of minutes to change the FORMATTING (a bold slap in the face) and B) pretty bush-league. But like the man says, imitation is the best flattery. Thats why we stay on the cutting edge.

Lucas...I'm not so sure of that fact. That saying has been around LONG before Nascar was even dreamed up. I know, cause I'm old

I just looked in my mail from yesterday. That magazine was in there. Lo & Behold- I saw it too. That takes balls, big ones.

Balls? Sounds like too much of a compliment. I prefer lack of intelligence, originality, integrity, and long-term planning. But, if everyone could play in the major leagues they would and there wouldn't be anyone in the minors.

HA! Well said. Too bad this couldn't be considered intellectual property and therefore protected by law. That would be pretty sweet.

that is truly amazing. people just love to copy each others stuff and pass it on as their own. Joe is right, you can cut and paste all the peak weeks in the world and pass them around to every BBer in the world and it still doesn't touch the heart of what peaking truly is. joe's constant attention to detail during that final week and then on show day is what peaking is all about. rarely does a peak week sheet stay true to the first one he sends you. i know that i sent him pics on a monday before a show and then bam! i had a whole new peak week to work with, totally different from the first. and of course the constant changes on show day speak for themselves.

Nothing like difusing the tension with a bit of humour Wayne Phew what can I say Joe...that we are living in the Evil World...in which we need to constantly walk with magnifying glass to find honest people? Well that is how I feel all the time...I get real excited when I find person with good working/personal ethics who I can trust. If I put my hands in front of me and count humans I can truely rely on..well there is a few fingers still left for that position..yeah my life is sad..very sad...Ok it is not that bad..But yeah the truth is...majority of people feel no remorse while they blindly rip others off!! I wish I had a solution...but I do not....
