So last year at Worlds (2007), I am walking around with all my friends and all the great athletes. And I notice that the vast majority of them are wearing WNBF clothing. The WNBF had a booth set up at the show obviously and so I bought a black WNBF t-shirt because I wanted one. Only I refuse to wear it until I win a WNBF Pro Card. So it has literally been sitting on top of my dresser for over a year now. I wash it when it gets dusty, but other than that, it doesn't move. Every day when I get dressed, I look at it. It reminds me of the goal...of what others have and of what I don't have. It helps keep things in focus and it keeps my goals grounded in reality. I don't have grand dreams of winning WNBF shows. I just want to wear my t-shirt. What do you guys do to keep the fire burning?

Look at you and think geez, wish i looked like that. Or just get on the boards and see any of joe's clients. Or stare at Dan's comp/current pics and think...jeez i wish i started earlier. Stare at old photographs.(fat ones and copmetition pics)
That one is sick...I am goin to try that though...This summer especially

I am one of the 10% of people who thrive off of negative reinforcement... tell me not to do something, or that I can't... and I WILL! My ex girlfriend never understood what I was always lifting for... she would always tell me that I am just a "small" guy and will never be big. She doesn't know it but that is really what motivated me to train and eat better/smarter. Or I just imagine while I'm working out that everyone is looking at me thinking he's small, why is he trying to lift big. That is a huge motivator! The underdog mentality, of I'm never good enough, but I will somehow will myself to win. Nothing is better than going to a contest and seeing all these guys who look jacked in their clothes... they freak me out!! Meanwhile I am looking like death in my clothes... nobody thinks anything of me... then shabam! I peel them off get a pump and pose... typically its game over, and where the f did that guy come from!? Plus actually picking a date for a contest is a biggie too!! Sean, you will never win a pro card, you are just a small guy, you should accept it and quit trying so hard! ...motivated?

Why you sonuvab....oh wait...that was trying to HELP me. HAHAHAHA! No worries brother, no motivation issues over here! I was just curious to see if anybody else bought a t-shirt. Oh and I also thrive of negative feedback. If I had a dollar for every time I've heard that I can't be a scratch golfer or I can't do well on stage, I'd be in Bora Bora typing this. LOL.

Who needs motivation? Why wouldn't you naturally want to dominate the planet at everything you do? I wake up just looking for a fight

Have you ever heard the story about Arnold and cutting off the bottoms of all his pants? Well, his calves were a huge weak point and in order to motivate himself to train them more he cut off all his pants at the knees. That way he would think that everyone was looking at his calves and making fun of them. So Sean, this SOB thinks that you should wear the t-shirt all the time so you can think people see your shirt and think "there is no way that dude is a pro!" Thus motivating you by humiliation. PS im moving back to indy here in the next month and im gonna travel down to evansville one day and pump some iron with you... and possibly get into a fist fight about how to train.... after i win the fight, we will have a new respect for eachother and eat out at ihop everyday... mmmm harvest grain n' nut pancakes...beyotch

"Are you sayin'....you wanna piece of me?? WELL YOU GOT ITTTTTT!!!!!!!" George's dad right before fights Elaine on Seinfeld. HAHAHAHAHAHA Austin, you are big on humiliation aren't you? Interesting. Because I don't need to wear my t-shirt to be embarrased by my body. It's hideous!! Joe and I were just commenting today on how bad I am actually. LOL. We were laughing at the irony of how my best pose is the most muscular...the irony stemming from the fact that I actually have no muscle whatsoever. HAHA! Lucas, grab the camera. Austin has volunteered to get beat up for the glory of Team K and I am not above hitting a client. I knew this kid was a team player.

Sean, I'd come at you all teeth and elbows. I'm like a tornado of fury all wrapped up in a man. The whole part of humiliation is NOT actually believeing that you are bad... Sean I'm starting to fear that you think you are no good..... true as that may be, you shouldn't believe it! muuuhaahahahah. Lucas lets make this a documentary, like a UFC thing. You can film me talking about seans weaknesses and how im gonna submit him in the 3rd round, or knock him out in the first. Then you can film sean talking about how he thinks he gonna lose. That would build up to the climax of the event which is me gettin sean in an arm bar, and sean yelling uncle... and then crying in his office, blowing his nose in his unwearn wnbf t-shirt... i can see it now TeamKC 1 (team K championships). I WILL BE THE TALL, SHOULD PROBABLY BE HEAVYWEIGHT MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION!!!

Awww yes....I remember when I was young and niave just like Austin. Those were the days. What this kid fails to understand is that I'm a scrapper. A "tornado of fury"? While you are going all Tazmaninan Devil on me, I'll drop you with a straight right. One and done. HAHAHA! I'm not down on myself...I just don't delude myself either. Joe and I are both PERFECTLY aware of my vast weaknesses on a bodybuilding stage. That said, I am looking and I'm indeed DETERMINED TO make the most of what I have been given genetically. So no worries there. But me thinking "I'll be the next WNBF champ" just is not productive. Its not based in reality. I recently asked a trusted friend for their honest feedback about my physique and my future with the WNBF. The response, while brutally honest, is totally accurate (which I am grateful for because its exactly what I beleive to be the case): You may or may not win a pro card this year. If you do, its going to take a weaker field and some luck. But I've seen guys with your frame win before. You grow muscle and that is a good thing. So in 10-15 years time you will be looking for a top 5 placement in the WNBF. So that said, who wants to watch a video of Austin laying on the ground in the fetal position, in a pool of his own bodily fluids? Because I am pretty sure he said he wants to train with Joe and I...
