Now that I am a seasoned "expert" in this bodybuilding sport (all of 4-5 months), I have grown accustomed to the everyday aches and pains i.e. tendonitis, muscle soreness, etc. What I'm not so sure is "normal" is the grinding sounds that I hear in my elbows during skull crushers and in my shoulders when I do rows (bent or standing). Is that typical or should I be concerned? I generally hear and feel it on the first several reps and it slowly goes away until the next set. The elbow especially bother me. Thanks, Craig

Wit, It sounds like some kind of injury that has healed from the past........(if theres no pain) ......My son had shoulder surgery to sew his tendon back to the bone, he always has grinding when he works out..........his is calcium deposits sitting in the area that needs to be worked out with phisical therapy.........Dr. Joe is one for this for sure..........Pam

Pam, I think you may be right on the shoulder...I've had trouble from time to time with my right rotator cuff from when I played basketball. My wife is a Physical Therapist and she is trying to show me different ways to angle my elbows on the skull crushers since this is my most painful exercise. Craig

...to no avail. I did arms on Friday and yesterday and today my elbow(s) are in a lot of pain. I have to believe again from the DB skull crushers since that is where I hear the grinding during the exercise. Is there at least another exercise that can target the triceps like the skulls do that I can try for awhile? Sean/Joe - I will send an email tomorrow asking for your advise but anything that you can add would be appreciated.
