Well I thought I would break in the new forum. Who else has a lower back that feels like somebody has stuck a bowie knife in your sacral vertabrae? LOL

I know there is no such thing as a good injury, but I have long said that the lower back is the worst, followed closely by the shoulder. Those are two places that you REALLY want to keep healthy.

Whaddya know, somebody listend to my idea. I have my issues, but I don't let them hinder me. Answer me this: is it safe to pull deads from the floor for singles with a bulge in the sacral region? What if your form is perfect, and you do it sumo style to ensure a tight back? I really want to get back into pulling from the floor as I will be entering some PL meets in the offseason.

I would have to think that the knee is no picnic either

both types of injury pretty much limit every singl workout, lower back being the worse of the two.

Dan, you competing in a PL event with a bulging disk is like taking a walk down the streets of Baghdad. You could survive it...but I would not recommend it. Thats a disaster waiting to happen man. You are talking about maximal lifts with a structural defiecency. Not smart man.

Don't get me wrong...I love powerlifting stuff. Its fun to move weight, the training programs are fun and it stokes the ego...but bodybuilders have no need to go max out like that. Unless you are Wayne.

I asked joe this same question: If you are not lifting to the max as a powerlifter would where do you draw the line?

Dan, post the reply I emailed you about your powerlifting pursuits.

"Dude, your carbs are way too low.....or are you selling and using crack now for tuition money?  Powerlifting?  With a herniated disc?  I'll pretend this conversation never took place."

doesn't really answer my question about how to determine the difference between "too heavy" and "just heavy enough"

I think "too heavy" makes a popping sound.

Yep, that's the one...just wanted to make sure I made myself clear...after reading it again, yeah...that's all I needed to say.

oh well, PL dreams are dashed for now then? I guess in the end I just want functionality, so anything that could hinder than is not within my spectrum.

but I'm telling you...the back feels great. It's a teensy, weensy bulge.

You guys are just too funny! Laughing

Dan, forget the crack, just get some percocets and you'll be fine. What does Sean and Joe know anyway. Hehe
