I just started creatine again, coming off of my two months cycle. What I am wondering is creatine really worth it. How does it effect the way you look? Do you loose vascularity and definition from bloating, or do you actually look toner and bigger when you are taking creatine monohydrate? I did not feel a big difference when I was off creatine, maybe just sore a little longer from my workouts and a little less energy during my workouts. But I have been gaining lean mass steadily with or without it. Also is it worth the possible kidney problems.....and is there really a concern with kidney problems? Josh

All creatine is going to do is give you 1-3 more reps before you get to failure, a little extra "umph". Sure it helps, and if you can lift more weight for more reps, then logically you will get bigger and stronger. But no supplement is necessary. I hardly use the stuff.

I used it an the only thing I noticed is bloat. I write down everything when I work out and when I look back,I could lift just as much weight not using it as when I was using it. However, I could be one of those non-responders.

no supplement is 'nessecary' hence the title 'supplement' however, creatine is absolutely one of the most effective and safe supplements in history

Safe when used properly. With so many supps containing small amounts of everything, some could be getting more than they think. And despite prevailing research on dose, I still run into people taking 10-20 grams a day and sometimes year-round.

yea, i think that's ludicrous as well. I believe it's 0.3g/kg saturates the muscle cell. Why people take more is beyond me

The best study I've seen shows that 2 g per day at the end of 30 days has you saturated. You can pre-load a little more to get their quicker, but more than 2-5 g per day and you excrete about 70% (same study) meaning kidney work. Not saying kidney destruction, but why would you want to scrape and tax the most sensitive tissue in your body?
