I'm a pretty positive, smiley, happy guy (as long as I'm eating enough) but occasionally a pet peeve gets under my skin that drives me out of my laid-back attitude. But at least my perfectionist, OCDism is tempered by the goal of letting little things slide...most of the time. Increasingly there are some weird terms out there that just don't make sense. Admittedly I'm a bit of a grammar freak having a minor in English, being a writer, blah, blah, blah. If I hear "refeed" one more time I think I'm going to run my head through my office wall. Don't be the next person to use that word, please. I know you're following the lemming-leader off the cliff and just using a little bodybuilding lingo, but "re" means "again" and "feed" means to eat. To eat again doesn't mean a targeted carb increase or an INCREASE in anything; it means "to eat again" - which means if you had a "refeed" you got to eat again. Eat what? Eat when? Eat how much? Why had you stopped eating? "Re" = again. "Feed" = eat. If you're referring to a carb increase, it's not even a carb "refeed." It's a carb increase. It's a higher-carb day. If it was a carb "refeed" it would be that you ate carbs for the first time in a measured period of time; you ate them AGAIN, not that you increased them. Just a fun little exercise for my fellow public school grads in the country that spends more money on education than every other industrialize nation combined and proudly hugs the bottom ranking. Okay, I feel better now. Look for the next installment: The Diet Doc Teaches College Grads to Write in Complete Sentences.

Oh Dog...Doc is going to take away carbs from you and therefore you'll have NO refeeds! You're so in trouble!!!! Playing on words like that! Dog will be left with cardio and no carbs and no carb refeeds or regular refeeds! I pity you!

I occasionally mispell a word due to typing error or just being stupid, so no worries there, Dog. Nice that you spelled doughnuts properly, though; instead of donuts. Just got another one in an email: de-load. I have a migraine now. Not to pick on anyone at all - do take this as 99% humor; I'd never single someone out like Jordan for using "refeed" twice in the same email. Back to "de-load." Same thing. To de-load something would be to take weight off of. To de-load for a week or a workout, is intended by the lemming crowd to mean to have a lighter workout week. But, de-load means taking weight off. If I de-load the bar, I've taken weight off the bar. If I de-load for a week; what have I done? (Well, actually, Sean de-loads about 5x a day in our facility - I buy Glade Air Freshner by the freaking case!) It's meaningless. Did I not train? Did I train lighter than usual? How light? "I de-loaded this week"? Ugh.

Hey, you are one who told me to eat 500-600g of carbs a day! De-loading is a way of life with this much fiber! Lets buy stock in Glade and get a return on our money.

I'll grant intellectual amnesty to all who don't use them again, Sumer - not keeping track. Except Jordan and Lucky Dog. When I see emails from them I just start twitching.
