I am a HUGE HUGE fan of live music, and I love to be in the pit where the action is. My favorite music is Metal and Alternative Rock with bands like Disturbed, Bullet for my Valentine, Breaking Benjamin, etc. When you are in hte pit it's pretty intense and almost like a workout just trying to keep your balance and stay alive. Anyone else love this experience and what kinda cardio effects do you think this is? I'm going to go see Theory of a Deadman tomorrow night and lookin very much forward to it.

My hubby and I saw Korn a few years ago in a VERY small nightclub. Our whole bodies vibrated the entire night just from the bass. I didn't want to get too close to the pit-Monkey spits. Liz :) |

I went to Metallica on Sunday night. Awesome concert. Here are some other great ones I've been too: Pearl Jam Red Hot Chillipeppers Foo Fighters Staind Godsmack Chevelle That's about it for serious rock concerts. There might be more, but I don't want to think right now. The pit seems like a whole lot of work. |

Haha Sean I will have to almost agree with you. The live show they put on is sooo sick. Theory of a Deadman was really great last night. The crowd was lame, but the band kicked ass. Here is my List of bands seen - Weird Al

Corey taylor and the rest of Slipknot are from my home town (Des Moines, IA)...so I know their stuff. I dont mind some of it, but I am not huge into that stuff. You listed off some good bands there though buddy. Well played. I have never seen Benjamin live, but saw a live DVD of them and was impressed. Breath Until the end Evil Angel Had Enough Shallow Bay A few of my favorites...but there are many. |

I also have to add that I worked out with Chimaira drummer Andols Herrick in Vegas. Turns out he is a huge BB fan and had contacted me after reading some of my articles. Found out we would both be in vegas at the same time so we hit up some legs in gold's :) Dude's pretty strong... and man he can wail on those drums :)

TXA....Our tastes are very much alike... Let me give this a shot... Korn (6x) -> Now that the band is broken up, they are horrendous live Staind (4x) Linkin Park (3x) Deftones (3x) -> IMO the best live Godsmack (2x) Limp Bizkit (2x) Snoop (2x) Eminem (1x) Trust Company (2x) Chevelle (1x) -> @ a club in Providence,RI...unbelievable N.E.R.D (2x) Slipknot Marilyn Manson (2x) Ozzy/Black Sabbath (ehhhh) Metallica (2x) Black Eyed Peas -> Opened for N.E.R.D, I was blown away by their backup band System of a Down (2x) Coheed and Cambria (1x) STP (1x) -> Weiland was so drunk the performance was terrible TXA....how's Breaking Benjamin live?? IYO what's their "must have" CD?? |

Wow Dave that is an impressive lineup and Layne...Shinedown 8 times wow. I really want to see Chevelle and Godsmack live. Coheed would be sweet too. Breaking Benjamin is awesome live...they are the band that really got me interested in seeing live shows. I didn't know all their material but came to love it after seeing them live. As far as must have...mmmm all three albums have their moments but I would say We Are Not Alone is their best overall but Phobia has their best song IMO...Diary of Jane.

Just ordered my tickets for Dropkick Murphys on March 6th at Roseland. I have never seen them give a bad show. If you ever get the chance to see Social Distortion live, do it! |
