You know, when you go over railroad tracks and you feel multiple parts of your body jiggle, it's time to get back to tuna and chicken breast.

To avoid the saturated fat in beef, most of us turn to fish, turkey, and chicken breast causing a huge variety deficiency. Wouldn't a great big, juicy burger be a nice change? No, I'm not going to suggest buying a George Foreman grill to "channel fat away from the food," you can't channel enough fat away from a hamburger to make a difference. I'm going to give you a different type of burger to throw on the Foreman grill.

Ostrich meat was introduced several years ago and has grown in popularity in some areas, but hasn't taken off as I thought it would. Ostrich meat has about half the fat as chicken breast, but is a red meat. When you buy ground ostrich it looks, cooks, and tastes like hamburger. Well, it tastes kind of like hamburger and is very good. You can make burgers, meat loaf, and lasagna; literally anything you would use ground beef for you can substitute with ground ostrich. My wife buys it from a local farmer who even raises them organically with no steroids or growth hormone. Check through your local health food stores as a starting point, they can usually point you in the right direction. If not, call local meat packaging stores.

Go easy on the mayo and ketchup, but it's about time to put burgers back in your diet!!
